What if we rise above the gridlock?Aug 05, 2020
Polarization is paralyzing.
I've never seen anything like it. These days, it seems like it's difficult to find a topic that doesn't pit us against each other.
What do you do when that polarization is within your own home? How do we move forward when we plant ourselves on opposite sides of the court from each other?
In today's #WhatIfWednesday brainstorm, I share a 3-step process for rising above a decision-making gridlock.
What if we remember that there is always a way, always a solution, and always hope when we lead with love?
What if we commit to recognizing (and dealing with) our own emotional trigger points before we try to make decisions together?
What if engaging with people who have a different perspective actually helps us make better decisions and innovate new solutions?
Thanks to everyone who shared what they have been wrestling with this past week. We hear you and we are here for you.
What heart-centered, UPlifting ideas do YOU have for breaking through decision-making gridlock and finding common ground when polarization hits home?
"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
- Abraham Lincoln
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand."
- Matthew 12:22
“Each man is an island unto himself. But though a sea of difference may divide us, an entire world of commonality lies beneath.”
- James Rozoff
