The Science
Once upon a time (and not so long ago), researchers constructed a robotic chicken programmed to move around a chicken coup. With a random computer-generated movement pattern, this feathered droid could be expected to meander through all areas of the chicken coup equally. Based on statistical projections, you could anticipate that the chicken would turn left as often as it turned right.
But this was not just any robotic chicken. This gadget was “imprinted” on a flock of baby chicks. For these tiny babes, the robotic chicken became “Mama.” And an interesting phenomenon began to occur…
When placed outside the chicks’ cage, RoboChicken was free to move in any direction. Researchers tracked and recorded each movement. Soon it became clear. The robotic chicken programmed for random movement meandered toward the baby chicks two and half times more frequently than statistically expected. Sound like a fairy tale?
In actuality, the study was conducted by Rene Peo’h of the Fondation ODIER in Nantes, France. More than 80 similar studies produced similar results. What was happening that would cause such a deviation in “reality”?
When we look our life through the lens of a Quantum physicist, we see that, in a material sense, our body is just a large community of cells. If we look closer at those cells, we see that they are actually made up of atoms. Those atoms, if we look closely, are made up of sub-atomic particles. And those sub-atomic particles can express is one of two ways: as a particle (matter) or as a wave (potentiality).
That means that everything in the universe (including your body!) at this very moment is a delicious dance of what is (particle) and what could be (wave).
The fascinating thing we have learned through Quantum Physics is that the determining factor between whether these subatomic particles express as a particle or a wave is: focus. When focus is directed, we see particles. When focus is removed, we see a wave of pure potential.
It’s kind of like the light in the refrigerator. Open the door, and the light is on. Close the door, and the light goes off. From where we stand, we might assume that the light inside the fridge is always on, because every time we go in for a snack, this is what we see. Similarly, as we look at our physical world, it’s easy to assume that everything is the universe is made of “something.”
Yet, the latest developments in science have allowed us to, essentially, experience the inside of the refrigerator even when the door isn’t open. Sure enough, the light does go out when the door is closed. When focus is withdrawn, that particle that seems so solid shifts into a wave that exists as nothing but pure potential.
We are all players on the Quantum Field of life. The subatomic substance of the Universe is responding to the intensity of our focus. We’re not talking about the kind of focus that comes from repeating affirmations over and over. We’re not even talking about the kind of focus that comes from creating vision boards and goal lists.
The subatomic substance of the Universe is responding to the focus and intensity of your dominant FEELINGS. Some might call it your “vibration.” The mystics might call it: “consciousness.”
What if the desire of those baby chicks to be near their “mother” was actually causing a randomly programmed computer to stop acting so randomly?
And if a baby chicken has the consciousness to impact a robotic Mama, can you even begin to imagine what you could do?
